I actually paid $35 for the rod and reel combo from Walmart like a year ago. The reel holder on the rod unglued itself a few casts in. And the reel feels pretty cheap, and it seems to bird nest way more than the SilverMaxx I had.

Among the market leaders perhaps, but Abu Garcia makes the best imho. 5500c will last forever. In my experience, Shimano = spincast, Daiwa = flycast, Abu Garcia = baitcast.
