I ordered my phone on the 13th. No shipping updates thus far, should I call them? Also, I was going to port over my google voice number. I don't really use it except for 2FA with less important accounts like twitter. After the two months should I port it back or can I just create a new google voice number?
Porting a number to Google Voice costs $20 so if it's not a special number just get a new one.

So I should wait before ordering this because it might be the next Galaxy Note 7 right?

They did not. Had an email send 8 hrs after purchase last Thursday saying your order has successfully been cancelled. I went through the live chat an hr ago and they said they'll have a representative call me in 15 minutes after I asked to escalate. Still waiting on the call.

I did try that and i got the below message

"We're still setting up your newly purchased line. Please try again later."

So, I reached out to customer care and they said that I would have to wait a week to get the details.

Can't say anything for sure, but it really looks like they are going to be recalling this phone. I've been following the rumors closely and I'm seeing multiple accounts on Reddit/YouTube saying that Verizon has identified the Razr as a fire hazard. I would not activate the phone if you received one, especially if you are porting over a phone number you value. I made this video which shows some of the evidence that a recall is impending: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JTL52XQGM0

I was able to buy the phone for $165. It shows two color options, so you can choose whichever you prefer. For the number, I signed up for T-Mobile's Network Pass, which gave me a free prepaid number to use for 3 months. I used that number on the Total Wireless website to activate it with the Razr 2025 phone. I received the verification code and selected the 3-month plan for $165. Then, I created a T-Mobile prepaid account and requested a port-out. The process was smooth, and I was able to get everything done easily through their website.
lol. Why lie ? That number can't be ported out

Once unlocked, can the phone be used for GSM carriers in US or in Dubai?

All depends on if they accept this model.
Some carriers are more restrictive than others. You should always verify model number with your specific carrier - especially with a brand new model.

Anyone that had their order "requested to be returned" heard anything from TW? I chatted with support today and they could not wrap their heads around the situation, of course. My package is set to be delivered tomorrow and TW support swears that will be at my house, but I'm thinking it will be delivered to Plainfield, IN tomorrow.
Edit: After getting nowhere with the chat agent, they offered me a callback, which I took. That agent kept telling me the same thing: that my package would arrive tomorrow. But he did eventually say that IF my package arrives in Plainfield, I will get a refund. So I assume that's how this is going to shake out. If your phone was shipped but then returned to Plainfield, you'll get a refund and will have to order again.

For people who got their phone delivered, what is the best possible action? I got mine delivered but I haven't opened it yet or activated it.

If the phone has to be returned due to a fire hazard, are we scammed for $165 as the plan is not refundable?
