Want to be able to set default sort order for searches

When I search for something on Slickdeals, like "laptop", I want the results to be shown to be in the order they were posted, starting with the most recent. There's an option to pick "Newest", but it's never the default. I don't care what SD thinks is relevant, which is the default sort order.
Filtering at the left (as mentioned in this thread: https://slickdeals.net/e/13026979-newbie-needs-to-know-how-to-sort-by-newest-so-i-can-see-only-new-deals ) isn't the same. Because, even if I pick the last week or whatever, they're not sorted.
Can you add an option to the profile settings to let users pick the default sort order for searches?

I am constantly changing the view from the default "Relevance" to "Newest" because the returned results are mostly irrelevant and I wanted to view them in order anyway, just like it used to be.
