Standard shutdown, next day this computer was hot to touch probably a fire hazard. Internals fried slow battery dies fast, touchscreen stopped working
Sent it in RMA they never repaired touchscreen got a full refund.

It's nice and fast when it worked but I'm not risking it again

The cheeseball 60hz panel just kills it for me. ASUS is so sh*t for brains, so many of their offerings have great specs on their marketing webpages and then the US release is trash. Add their abysmal support and rampant hardware failures (already noted above) to the mix and this is a hard pass. Sucks because, on the surface, their laptops look and feel awesome.

I bought the Vivobook S 14 deal for $450 a couple months ago, and initially I was thinking maybe I should have held out for something beefier and paid more, but after dealing with the headaches of their sh*tty BIOS drivers and absolute trash Win11 experience all around, I realized that $400 to $500 is right around the price range you probably should stay within in this territory and in hindsight I'm very happy I did. The Ryzen AI 365 / 370 or Intel Core Ultra (Series 2 specifically, eg 226 / 256 / 258 / 285) w/ 16gb / 24gb / 32gb RAM are both great chipsets that can do a lot more than expected at very high power efficiency, and can be had for a very attractive price if you hold out for the right deal. This isn't it though IMO.

Sad that Asus never really turned into the high-quality manufacturer that we were all hoping for-- they had years of decent motherboards back in the early 2000s and then they trailed off making horrendous laptops, monitors, etc...

I know Asus is far from perfect, but I'm tempted to roll the dice here. There is no competition with a similar size (13 to 14 inch) and weight that also has a dgpu and 2 in 1 form factor, is there? On top of that, specs are strong for the price, and build quality is solid. Main concern is software and drivers, but in theory that's fixable stuff and this one has been out for a while now.

Not for gaming for sure.Too much for price i think. You can get a high resolution almost top of the line beast for this price.

For gaming Asus had the Flow X13 which has a 165Hz QHD+ display with VRR. Hard to find now though. Wish they would resurrect it.

That is exactly why I went with the MacBook Pro 14 instead.
