The 2024 G14 Zephyrus has a higher refresh rate of 120hz, this one has 60hz. It is their "gaming" laptop compared this being marketed as their "creator" laptop. This has a touchscreen, Zephyrus does not. This is a 2-in-1 (converts to tablet), the G14's screen does not fold all the way around. The G14 has either the RTX4060 or RTX4070 as options, this has the RTX4050 or RTX4060 (no RTX4070 option in the US for some reason). This has AMD's newest AI CPU, the G14 has the previous model AMD chip (not sure why they did that when the other laptops they released this year have the newer one), still very powerful for most tasks unless you're planning to do a lot of intensive AI work in the future where you need something specifically for that. The convenience of the tablet mode and touchscreen with newer CPU or the higher refresh rate and better graphics card for gaming would be where the real difference lies and how you plan to use the laptop for your needs. I'm sure there are other differences I didn't mention but I recently went down this rabbit hole and remembered some key differences of the two.
I bought this in Jan 2025 bestbuy openbox satisfactory - not a scratch on laptop with all original box etc for $1189.
I really liked the screen, power, and functionality. Alot of bloatware and updates
I set it to smart charge < 80%.
One night standard shut off with it plugged in, 24 hours later I came back and the laptop was burning hot to the touch (for i don't know how long). The touchscreen gave out, the laptop lags, the touchpad works intermittently, and the battery dies extremely quickly. The laptop literally fried. I sent it in thru Bestbuy. 3 weeks later, it came back same symptoms.
Best buy eventually gave me a $1189 credit
I believe there is something wrong with the software that caused it to literally fry
