Got this for ten dollars more as a new work machine. Happy with everything about it. Stripped Asus software and installed ghelper.

had this in my cart but learned Asus only gives 90 days warranty for open box items.

Credit card extends it by 1 year usually, they generally count open box as new.

I bought this in Jan 2025 bestbuy openbox satisfactory - not a scratch on laptop with all original box etc for $1189.
I really liked the screen, power, and functionality. Alot of bloatware and updates
I set it to smart charge < 80%.
One night standard shut off with it plugged in, 24 hours later I came back and the laptop was burning hot to the touch (for i don't know how long). The touchscreen gave out, the laptop lags, the touchpad works intermittently, and the battery dies extremely quickly. The laptop literally fried. I sent it in thru Bestbuy. 3 weeks later, it came back same symptoms.
Best buy eventually gave me a $1189 credit
I believe there is something wrong with the software that caused it to literally fry

You can replace all the Asus stuff with GHelper, it helps the power usage too.
