I researched the best MacBook for general college work over the past few days because I'm planning to upgrade my laptop. I've read through reviews on sites like new york times, tech radar, and even Consumer Reports, and two models keep coming up as top picks:

However, I'm having a hard time deciding which one would be more suitable for my needs. My work includes multitasking with Office apps (Excel, Word, Outlook), video calls, occasional light photo editing, and a lot of browser-based tools.
Battery life and portability are important to me, but I don't want to feel performance lags either.
Has anyone used both or have a recommendation based on real-life college use? I'd really appreciate any insights or advice before I make the purchase.
