Can you elaborate why this is not a deal? Dell 16 at Costco is $649 with touchscreen and similar specs. What laptop currently has these specs for this price? Using two Am Ex cards, it brings it down to $400. Thank you.
Sorry, I had to step away to run some errands. I'm glad you got the situation resolved.
Just the fact you offered, meant the world, thank you. My coupon finally came through. Went to order this the other day and it was sold out, so I kind of panicked.

The Dell has a better screen (if you don't need touch), but the HP has a better CPU, adds the touch feature and a 2nd year warranty. I feel they are a comparable value at $495 and $550 respectively. The Dell wins on value if you can get an extra discount (and don't care for the better CPU and the touch feature).
Yes, I agree with that comparison on the Dell and HP, I it just sounded like maybe I was missing something on this and shouldn't have purchased. I had two $50 offers on two different Am Ex cards, so it brought it down to just around $400, with no tax in Montana. Thank you for your time in explaining this to me, I very much appreciate it. I do like purchasing through Costco better, just for their warranty. I have touch currently, there are pros and cons to it. I used to always purchase Dell but my last three (all the same model) get pretty hot on the bottom, so I was hesitant to purchase this model. Those are 14 inch 2/1's. I purchased a Lenovo, and I like it, other than the wireless is always disconnecting. My one HP laptop I purchased was horrible, and I've never given them another chance, so I don't know how they are currently. All the manufacturers seemed to cheapen theirs all the time. Really don't know the most reliable manufacturer. Again, thank you, I only have passing knowledge of what is good/bad in laptops.
Oh, and also, I wasn't suggesting you said it wasn't a deal, I should of included the quote. It was a quote within one of your messages. Sorry.
"Dont waste your money folks, this is just another misleading "deal" that dealseeker posted trying to get the uneducated people to waste their money. He is well know for posting these garbage deals to make commission."

I am surprised this deal has come back. When it was first posted, I recommended this Dell laptop to two people who had asked me for a recommendation and got the coupon for that purpose. But the laptop went OOS too quickly for them to get on this deal. I then advised them to get the Costco deal instead, which, TBH, is a safer recommendation to give to the uninitiated for the reason of the Costco warranty and return policy. They can go and see it for themselves at the local Costco and then deal with Costco if they aren't fully satisfied.
But I agree with your thought process and sentiments 100%. Dell used to be my default choice, but everyone seems to have cheapened their products over the years, particularly in the areas of screen quality and build quality. But at $400, you are making the right choice.
That quote is in my signature. It's not specific to this thread. It must be dating 10+ years back and is from one of my haters at the time.

Gotcha, someone's always gonna spew the hate. I, too, was surprised it came back, because it went OOS fairly quickly. I think the only reason I was able to get it today was I came back to look at the comments to see how people liked theirs, and noticed it was back in stock, even though the deal is marked expired. So yay! Another thing I noticed, is if you select "free two day delivery" in this exact configuration, it adds $100 to the price. Sketchy, Dell. Also, because you were kind enough to enlighten me that my inbox was full, I went through and totally deleted my messages. Truthfully, I never look there, obviously. So it all worked out. Thanks again.

I never knew having a full PM mailbox was a thing. I set up deal alerts to send certain important deals to my inbox, maybe it fills up the limit. Could that be why I never heard back when I messaged people, because they couldn't reply to me?

I didn't know that either, but I don't send deal alerts to my PM box to run into that issue. You may want to bring this up in the Site Questions, Issues or Suggestions forum. At the very least, there should be a prominent alert somewhere to prompt you to clean your Inbox. (There may be, and we may have just been oblivious to it ).
