Yes. You'll eventually end up with a bunch of unused chargers and it seems every combo comes with a flashlight that I never use. Bothers me that they count them as a "tool," but it technically is I guess.

I wouldn't really go with the kits because they typically like on this package throw in worse models of products that are brushed.

There are brushed tools and not worth it.

You can usually get M18 Fuel tools for around $100/ea if you slickdeal them

Respectfully, I have a brushed Milwaukee drill that is 20 years old. I'm not a contractor but I'm pretty heavy DIY user.

Second this. If you're going to spend the money do it right. I have over a dozen fuel tools and 7 batteries(?) all bought in 2025, for under $100 each. Combining Slickdeals posts, Home Depot Spring sales, opened a HD consumer credit card for another $200 off (targeted offer), plus whatever HD pro membership gave. When adding to the setup I compare current deals to what I paid and decide if it's right. i'd avoid brushed at all costs, if you're going to spend the money for brushless it's only a couple dollars more for top of the line fuel tools. Do your research.

If you have time and a little extra money, wait for fuel deals. Otherwise my brushed multitool, drill and driver have done so much work for our home, fuel is just fun to have.

People keep squawking as if brushed has become useless now that brushless is available 🙄

For the average home owner and DIYer, these brushed kits will be more than adequate.

Exactly. And if you manage to get to the point of replacing a brush, it's easy.

But honesty project farm and other tooltubers say that the hercules line is a far better value.
