420 a fake price. Costco normal price for 13 piece is 199 currently on sale for 160. Not bad but just highlighting that SD's doesn't make any attempt to reflect realistic pricing

These are not the same ones. These are shitty aluminum clad. The ones at Costco are tri-ply. These are priced correctly.

These are not the same ones. These are shitty aluminum clad. The ones at Costco are tri-ply. These are priced correctly.

If I recall, SD just pulls the "strike through" price from the site where the deal originates. They aren't doing any deep analysis of price trends or validating against the MSRP when a deal is posted, as you suggested. But with as much stuff as gets posted, I don't know how they would do it reliably and not cause limited time deals to be missed, either.

Yeah but I guess when a staff member is posting a promoted deal they should be held to a higher standard. It also takes 2 minutes to go to camel and post stats

I would skip these in favor of tri-ply stainless which can routinely be purchased on deals in the $150 range and occasionally less.

This isn't even full clad, this is literally trash.

This site used to actually vet deals, you could do better just learning what things cost and what makes makes things worth money. Using this site will literally make you consumerist idiot that only buys things that look like deals but are realistically trash items with fake price tags.

HexClad is a totally different animal. The pro chefs that I know don't like HexClad. Get yourself a good carbon steel pan. As far as stainless goes, you want at least 3 ply. All Clad D3 (they have a sale going on right now), Demeyere, or Made-In are all good options.
