You know what, I gotta eat crow and retract my statement. I just Google box weights, and you're entirely correct. It must just be my perception based on what I've got in my boxes. Completely my bad--hope I didn't throw anyone off!
I think my issue is that with the organizers/spacers in the Packouts (compared to the bare TSTAKs I have), there just isn't as much that can be piled in them, so the perception (well, also reality) is that they're lighter. But empty? You are completely correct. It looks like the TSTAKs are about 50% lighter.

Nice price compared to the historical average. Grabbed a couple.
I find these DeWalt boxes too heavy for mobile storage (hauling in and out), so I use Packouts for that purpose. But I love these for riding around in the back of my truck permanently (with my impact, bottle jack, inflator, repair tools, etc.) to keep them secure and dry!

That's a curious use case, because the pack outs are significantly larger and heavier when filled with tools…
Maybe you're thinking 5-6 of these compared to 2 pack outs? Then these would be heavier maybe.
Not really ever thought of it that way. I do love these because they are smaller and I feel better organized with them.

Thanks for confirming. I was wondering the same. I have several TSTAK boxes and crates. These drawers seem heavy and less practical compared to the small parts organizer, but the organizer never goes on sale.

Your statement makes no logical sense to me. Tstak boxes are much lighter than all but the very smallest thinnest Packout boxes. Even then it would be very close. Are you possibly confusing ToughStack wit Tstak, they are not the same?
