It does not run the staples all the way into soft wood. Haven't even tried hardwood. I paid $35 at HD and it's not even worth 20 since it does not work properly

Well dang, I guess I'll pass. If it can't even drive into softwood then what good is it?

I have one and it's been fine with staples and nails when attaching cloth or something like a veneer. If it is anything more than screen moulding, it won't go all the way through and you'll need to finish it with a hammer...but that can still be handy to tack something up temporarily.

I'm fairly certain this is a DeWALT-licensed item as I had an identical Hotak stapler for a couple years before this came out with identical features and shortcomings.

That model was the first t50 stapler I had ever encountered that had a more efficient lever position than the classic steel-bodied arrow staplers. The reduced force required was really nice, but the Hotak was unreliable in setting staples in different materials.

It would work great for one project and then not be able to sink staples on the next. I kept it because the ergos were so good when it did work… until the dewalt carbon fiber stapler came out.

The dewalt carbon fiber stapler also utilizes the improved lever design but is a substantial upgrade. On Friday, I used mine to shoot through 1/4" pine ply into 1/2". Sent about 400 staples and only had 2 that misfired.
