Solid deal! I got this set for $195 back in September. The foam trays are excellent, but deeper than the average consumer grade tool cabinet so make sure you measure well. Also worth noting if it's not obvious from the product photo, you will still need to buy the wrenches - Part # 86521 if you want to have a matched set. But it is a commitment to the brand and most home mechanics would be fine with a less comprehensive kit.

Really like that tray that's awesome, not a huge fan it's 12 & 6 pt same size.

12pt while works on 6 & 12.

If it's a 6pt which is 99% more common I want to use a 6pt. 12pt on a 6pt just gives you more opportunity to strip with some of the tougher bolts and if your using an impact while it will get the bolt you'll be damaging the head for the next time you attempt to get that damn bolt out. Granted these are not impact sockets and I have all these covered anyways but you use what you got sometimes.

Just rebuilt the transmission in my ram 2500.

FYI there was no 12pt headed bolts taking out the entire front and rear drivelines, or transfer case, or transmission mounts. All were 6pt EXCEPT there was 4x T45 on the front 4x4 driveline connecting to the front axle.

12pt are less common, that's all I was trying to say

I also did say they were not impact...

Just ordered and received the 192 piece Dewalt Mechanic set for $159 from Blaines which I've been eyeballing for a while. Came to $174 with shipping and 6% sales tax in michigan.
Seems to be good quality out of Taiwan.

Everyone saying they have no use for SAE must live in the city. We have a ranch with tractors and heavy equipment and SAE is everywhere. I understand most new stuff is all metric and I also will buy metric first then sae when I buy new tools. On a side note 12 point sockets work just fine on 6 point bolts

So many weird comments in this thread. SAE is still used in many applications and 12 point work just fine on a standard hex bolt/nut.

12 point is more versatile than 6 point because not only can you work with 6 and 12 point fasteners but also 4/square head. Cant do that with a 6 point socket.

Also, plenty of things use SAE.

It's funny all these comments about SAE...as I'm typing this..I have a set of Snap On SAE regular and deep sockets in front of me that I just used to removed a 3 hundred pounds part off an engine. Looking across from me is two other guys with their SAE tools too. Don't tell the tool makers to stop make SAE tools...tell that to the hardware and part manufacturers. As long as they are manufacturing parts that requires SAE...we need the tools to work on them!
