I bought these in the past and they're fine but you're getting what you pay for in terms of quality and ergonomics.
Think mine have started leaking sand/cement whatever is inside them, as there's a powder on the floor after I put them down. No, I never dropped them either.

I've found that's generally the case with most weights. If you're unsure if you'll ever use them, cheap ones are fine for the 3 times a year they'll get used. But if you want to actually work out with them, spend the extra money on some good dumbbells.

I'm sure they don't make them like they used to, but my set from 15 years ago (which I ironically paid $20 for at WM) is still going strong with no leaks.

Don't buy this junk. If you actually want to work out at home you'll only end up having to spend more money when these start failing.

Probably ok for a starter work out 3 times a week but if you're serious get metal plates. Usually cheap used.

Just another data point... I bought mine awhile ago (about 15yrs ago or so, similar to another poster). And mine's still working well. Admittedly, I barely used it until last year. It survived 2-3 moves.
