Interesting machine and price for the form factor, but not for gaming. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Del...74.0.htmlA 50w 4070 is sometimes matched by a laptop 2070.

It's not just the form factor, but the fact that it is purely a creator laptop and indeed not a gaming laptop.

This will be the most common resolution on new laptops for the foreseeable future. It's a shame they don't just do 4K. Most content providers aren't going to make video streams at this resolution, and some will fall back to 720, 1080, or 1440 if you're lucky.

You can play 4k resolution on smaller resolution displays

can you help explain it better? Why is the max TGP 50w in this laptop vs 90 - 110w in a typical gaming laptop with same RTX 4070?

50w 4070 should yield 60 fps at 1080p at low to medium for modern games. It's serviceable as a gaming laptop

Netflix, Disney, and Amazon Prime all don't allow you to select a resolution which means they're likely going to play a lower resolution if you don't meet their requirements. If you're watching YouTube, where you can select a playback resolution, then yeah, you should be able to play 4K on your 3K display.

Power phases in motherboard this would have less power capacity to save on power and ultimately heat. It's running this card at 50% power and you get about 50% performance.(More like 70%)

I picked one of these up a while ago at Microcenter when they were on sale for $1,200 and love it. I pair it with a tiny Anker nano 100W charger and it's quite a nice bit of power in a portable package. Because it's only 100W total system power, the TGP for the 4070 is lower but this is still a great performer for its price/size//weight. While it's not designed for gaming, don't let other comments here mislead you - it games perfectly fine. (Behaves more like a 4060 in games owing to the lower TGP). And it's spec'd well enough to run LLMs locally, or do AI image generation, etc.
If you want the max power you can get in a 4070, this is not it. But if you want a great overall package at a decent price, consider this.
