i've bought and returned this laptop 3 times. yup, 3 times, each time due to a defect of one kind or another: faulty speakers, fan running non-stop, bad USB port, messed-up bluetooth connectivity. other than those items, i loved the thing and hadn't seen a deal i liked better. great 16" screen, more nits that most, enuf memory for my needs, not too heavy, backlit keyboard, plenty of speed for what i do, slot for a 2nd SSD, powered USB C, availability of a keyboard protector for sloppy folks like me. no SD-card slot and it comes with a 155U when the 155H would have been better but neither of those were dealbreakers and i shrugged 'em off.
the whole vero back-to-nature eco-friendly biz is bogus, esp given all the cardboard the laptop is packed in, and don't get me started on the two reverse-labeled keyboard keys. regardless, lots to like .. so much that i just threw down for a 4th try at getting a good machine. fool me once, fool me twice, fool me thrice .... fool me four times? we shall see!
btw / the three i bought previously ranged in price from $450 to $550, so at $520 the current price strikes a basically okay medium. the deals have been posted here before, without getting much love, for reasons unknown to me. i doubt this time will be different but, again, we shall see.

I only bought and returned once, but it was due to the following:
- the recycled plastic material creaked a lot every time I touched it. The chassis quality was lower than a cheap 3D print.
- the plastic was rough like 300 grit sandpaper.
- the fan vent was located between the keyboard and screen, facing upwards. I can't imagine how that would affect the screen over a few years.
- the fan was always on and loud, very loud. I measured it to be from 78 to 92 decibels at all times.
I was hoping they would figure out a solution or scrap the design, but it sounds like they didn't.

I've seen a few comments on the bezel at the bottom left snapping apart from the screen, have you noticed that starting at all between the Vero Adventures?

Did you end up getting something else to replace it or do you still have this laptop?

I will stay away from most ACER products, I had to return it multiple times, things breaks in couple months. Bad quality, specially body parts, hinges, touch screen are cheaply made.

i've read about the bezel problem and took enough care that i never experienced it.

i returned them all and ordered the one in this post, arriving tomorrow, hoping that all will be well with it, though i have my doubts about that going in.

i had that creaking in one of the 3 i returned. the rough body plastic didn't bother me. but, yeah, the fan noise was incredible on one of the 3.
