The game was received really well at the time, but I tried it and did not like it. There were too many cutscenes constantly taking you out of gameplay and I didn't find them engaging. Too much exposition and dialogue at the beginning. And when I eventually reached gameplay, I found the controls to be unintuitive and cumbersome. However, I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from playing Witcher 3 because that game was incredible. One of my all time favorites.
