If it doesn't get kinky- I don't want it.

You're 100% correct. I have had those for 10 years, lying outside all year long and they are still doing well.
Yes I have the same hose! (all rubber from Sears) Only problem it is heavy.

I bought a gorilla hose reel which has a brass fitting but realized I need a hose with a brass fitting. Has been very hard to find outside of Eley which is very expensive.

Even the gorilla hose uses aluminum. And of course they sell an adapter that's out of stock.

This looks like a good deal. I was going to get this but then I saw Harbor Freight had a 50 foot, made in Taiwan, Continental copy for $30 (coupon). It is heavy but seems well made. 3/4 diameter.
What's the name or model? I can't find it.

FYI these hoses will become extremely sticky if left out in the sun within 1 year. After 2-3 years you won't be able to touch it without getting covered in sticky goo and it'll look like snake skin as it breaks down.

Do NOT PURCHASE unless you are able to keep it in the shade and out of the sun.

They've replaced half a dozen hoses for me though, have to take pictures and cut the ends of the hoses off, then they ship out replacements.

I don't know why there are complaints about mold. I've had these hoses for years and have never had a single issue. I own two 100 foot and I'm about to buy a 3rd 100ft hose for the back of the house
I have half a dozen of these. If left in the sun they deteriorate get sticky/moldly looking. Actually begin looking like snake skin. It's crazy. They do replace them. But they are good for only 1 year at the most in the sun before they are a sticky mess.

I have a 100ft one that I roll up on a elevated reel after every use and it still turned black and gross after about 3 months. They don't have a tendency to kink and are nice otherwise.

How does this compare with this from Costco? https://www.costco.com/flexon-58-...67125.html

i dont know the exact brand but here's one that's similar https://a.co/d/9nRvKvI time will tell how long it'll last but it's easy to maneuver and put away. just shove it into a basket, no winding.
I have had bad luck with expandable hoses leaking or breaking entirely. Their lightweight and portability is undermined by their poor durability. I think I have been through 3 or 4, including a couple cheap Amazon ones and an higher end one from Costco, and will not buy one again. I got a stainless steel hose from somewhere and it is fantastic for portability and not tangling or kinking.

Just checked my order history, picked up one in 2021 for 27$. Still going strong in the California sun and heat. I should mention I do have it rolled up in a hose reel, so maybe that helps protect it as opposed to laying sprawled out on the concrete or something.

The craftsman rubber hose from Sears is $15 or 50ft and $25 for 100ft If I can remember correctly. I have two 50ft and one 100ft, just in the outside winter and summer for at least 10 years. car run over it almost everyday.
I helped put sears out of business buying those lifetime warranty rubber hoses and rolling the points every chance I could. Wish I would still be able to get them at those prices!
