I have it and I hate it. Funny thing, it is my second one. First one was of a previous generation where you needed a hub for it to talk to wifi. It was a shit show. I upgraded in hope it will be usable. But not so much.

Batteries go flat randomly. Make sure you have a key nearby.

App doesn't register the click to open/close at times. I need to close the app and open it again for it to recognize a tap on the open/close action. Each time I want to open close, I need to restart the app.

Good deal. I've been using one of these for a few years on my front door. At the time of purchase it was the only lock with a "stealth" option that lets you use a key and normal looking deadbolt (no keypad visible). They use 2x lithium 123 batteries that cost $2-3 each that only last like 2-3 months. At $20-$30 a year it's almost like paying for another subscription service. It's honestly kinda annoying.

In comparison I also have 3 Nest/Yale locks that use regular AA batteries that last like 2 YEARS or more (it's been so long that I don't even remember the last time I changed them). Just something to keep in mind before buying.

I got a bunch of batteries on a slickdeal but when those run out I'll probably change it out with something else.

I have slightly better luck with these in two locations. Most importantly is the auto-lock works every time and we never have to worry about accidentally leaving the door unlocked. The auto-unlock also works most of the time. We also appreciate the fact that the lock doesn't look or work any differently from the outside. Folks that prefer to use their key can still do so.

One with the external hub and one like the model posted here with the wifi built in. I prefer the external hub. While it is a small nuisance to find a spot to plug the hub in where it's close enough to the lock to work reliably, the battery life is much better. I've had it for several years and the batteries last 6+ months.

The model with the wifi built in doesn't have the same range, so I think it might be a problem if your router is not near the door you want to install this lock on. As mentioned above, it also eats batteries, which are the more expensive cr123 size. I would not recommend this model if you don't have a strong Wi-Fi signal near your door.

Hate this. Ended up getting the Schlage Encode Plus connected with Thread and it's been fantastic (granted, it was more than twice the price of this but well worth it IMO).

Mine has been rock solid for close to 2 years now. Battery lasts only a few months but I get ample warning and have not had any malfunction or connection issues. It might help that I live in a small condo so the wifi does not have to travel far vs a house.

Have the version with the keypad and it works well for me - I don't use any of the smart phone features.
Matte Black version also on sale but for $110 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...staff&th=1

Hmm I've had these for many years and it must be the previous gen where you use a WiFi gateway to get proper WiFi connection and also it uses AA batteries. Sounds like this deal is of an upgraded version that's worse, so I'll pass.

I bought the verison that specifically uses the wifi bridge. Batteries have lasted at least 6+ months for me. The wifi chip just requires too much power. I also have the issue where the tap to lock or unlock doesn't work sometimes. I have to go back to my keys and back into the lock, and then the tap works. Annoying.

Thanks - I have the older WiFi version and was thinking this newer one had to be better before I read your post. My WiFi hub loses connectivity too frequently (connectivity issues for a door lock are not acceptable). Also, I installed their "Door Sense" magnet in the door jamb, and it can't reliably tell me about manual door opens/closes, which makes it useless to create HA automations based on door status (i.e. turn the porch light on if I open the door after dark). Other commenters seem to share your experience.
