Heh..I found this picture ironic...
..the "highly recyclable" part. Good to know Apple, that you think a lot of people are going to throw this in the garbage
Will it run Vista?

past that: as many others have pointed out, this is basically a big ipod touch with data if you're willing to pay. the iphone sold so well because it was a new experience: it had a built-in app store with apps that actually worked seamlessly with the device and were made for its interface. it didn't have buttons. it was novel. it looked cool.
the ipad is basically just that experience with a larger screen. the concept of a dedicated app store is no longer a novel concept, nor does the ipad bring any real new technology that the ipod touch/iphone haven't brought out. the only thing novel about it is its limitations.
not to mention the mobile phone market is much different than the personal device market: almost everyone wants a cell phone, and they don't mind shelling out a few extra bucks for something cool. not everyone needs or wants a mobile computer, so you've cut the demo right there, and when you introduce all the shortcomings listed in this thread, even non-techies might decide it's not for them.
of course, i could eat my words and this could sell like mad for five years. predicting mass consumption is a vague guess at best.
There's an external keyboard accessory but it's been told you can use pretty much any BT keyboard as well. Not sure about mice...WHY? It's completely touchscreen..can't see the need for a mouse.
Neing, nein, yah, nein.
