I think its kind of ugly
And the name is stupid.
Its litteraly just a really big iphone. Looks almost comical.
No word on price yet.

It is static, you realize?
It is not meant to do much else.
I get your point about not wanting an e-Ink book reader. Not your preference, I guess.
But there is no need to knock a technology designed to read books as being not much good for anything other than reading books.
also people are forgetting about color eink, in development
IF this ipad would have had your standard Mac OS, even with slightly less horsepower than a macbook, it wouldn't take long for it to replace said macbook, and, ultimately, replace macbook pros, and the like.
other companies would do the same. our current laptops have been around for quite some time.
They didn't want to tip their hand with what's coming with the next generation Iphone by keeping the Ipad similar to the current Iphone/ITouch.
I'm not too sure if I'm buying this, but I do admire its style. Its very slick.
But apparently lots of people want a $250 device that allows them to read a book -- many books -- with a battery that lasts a week. And apparently they don't need it to do much more than that.
Knocking e-Ink seems to be irrelevant to your argument. The Kindle is not meant to compete with the iPad. They are different products.
It's like saying an alarm clock isn't much good for anything other than showing the time and waking you up, and that you would prefer an alarm clock with CD player, idock, and wifi internet radio. Different products, different prices.
Nope..they make you go and buy adapters!!
Am I the only one that thinks the Apple Newton..

Basically an oversized ipod touch. Any decent netbook has more functionality at a much lower price (except the touch screen)
I'm being dead serious, I've thought about getting one, but have talked myself out of it several times because I don't see it as being very useful. Convince me otherwise.
