Can I just transfer the money from my Wells Fargo account to this account and claim this 500 bonus?
Or does it need to be direct deposit from say an employer?
same question. i'm self employed. i have an LLC but don't want to play games with the tax man over $450. was wondering if there is a way to move money from a personal account into this one to collect the bonus. was going ot open a usbank account anyway because they have a branch near me and i want to leave my current bank
Worst Bank IMO for keeping the world. US Bank will try their best to deny the reward. Make sure you cover all your bases 100% and you have a confirmed invitation

Really? I did this a few weeks ago and the full 450 came through, they were even faster than Truist. They have a tracker for the bonus, and two pushes from my Fid CMA worked fine. See DoC dps for examples.
The issue is actually getting the account set up. If you are not in their "footprint" they will never accept you for checking. Instead start with Savings or CD, (optionally one of their good credit cards like the Cash+ or Altitudes) and then they will approve you for this.

I have a shared savings account ( forgot abount it) and then opened a checking account for the bonus. i thought they denied it for sure because of the shared account but got the bonus just a few months later. i'm really happy with usbank cuz they waive checking and saving fees without needing monthly direct deposit.

I'm glad it worked out for you guys and lucky.
In my case I was denied saying I was not invited.
Where I fulfill all requirements over a 3 month period. Then around the 5th month it was completely denied. I contacted customer service multiple times, where the offer was advertised on their website and said nothing about an invitation. Eventually I gave up. I will never deal with the US Bank due to this reason.
