Quite honestly, CPU is not the problem, even M1 has plenty of power…IPadOS is the problem.

this is NOT an M4 ipad, don't waste your money. In fact this is a 2022 model.

The iPad isn't really in the ecosystem like my mac and phone are. The only issue is I can't seem to load pdfs etc into books from the ipad easily, so i just load the onto the mac and books syncs them. And torrenting, of course.

I've been wanting something like this since the 90s, so it's been great. It fits how I work and the tools are first class. I'm a software guy, so 80% of my job is thinking. YMMV.

If you have to ask then it isn't a deal for you. This iPad is only a good deal for those that will use those who will use the ram and extra disc space. Anyone else is just wasting money.

got this last year for $899, with 256gb, and i've only used 167gb mostly from apps. if that helps anyone!

Great deal for people who need to run VMs. This should be running iOS 16 from the factory, so it's eligible for TrollStore and includes hypervisor framework, so can run UTM with full virtualization support. 2TB version also comes with 16GB of RAM (vs 8GB in 128-512Gb storage variants).

As an artist with access to all latest Apple tech at work, I can state that the only person in the room who can really benefit from PRO in terms of performance is the greasy guy who is so fornicated that he decided to montage video on ipad. Get Air/Basic one and all the same work/media consumption. Or, if you are extremely relying on the screen quality and features - go to the store and compare screens live, in person.

People complaining about the OS… it's just an app launcher. What more do you want from a tablet? A tablet that has a 99.9% uptime and the only time you need to restart is because of an OS update.

I use iMovie to edit videos. It sucks up a lot of space. on my older iPad I had to end up offloading edited videos to the PC when I was running low on space and it ended up being a pain in the butt if I ever needed to edit the video again. It may have been because I dont have a Mac that it was so painful. It is just easier to leave everything local.
