OK, I've watched videos on the stuff but still have issues. Isn't SATA and NVMe 2 different things? I understand M.2 form factor.

Had to return two Orico enclosures due to poor performance. Maybe just me but thought I'd share.

Don't buy these, they suck. Slow performance and unstable connection. I've tried using these 3 times already and never was able to successfully copy my data over completely.

M.2 is a form factor that can carry pcie, sata, and USB. It's not common anymore but a lot of early m.2 ssds were sata. This enclosure is one of the earlier ones where that was more common.

I recommend the Sharge SSD enclosures. It's on sale right now and it's thinner + it has magsafe compatibility. Really high quality product

I have used this once to copy everything over a smaller SATA from a Dell laptop to a new and larger NVMe 3.0 ssd a few years ago with no issues.
