Just got mine. It showed no signs of life when I unboxed. It seems like it got stuck in a weird mode, but if you hold the home button for 10 seconds, let go, hold r1+l1 while you plug it into usb, it should go into the firmware update mode. I did a firmware update on it and it popped right back to life. I think the battery was pretty dead because I had to do it twice, but it seems to be ok now that's it's charged a little bit.

Because officially it only functions as a Switch "Pro Controller" over wired connection or Bluetooth. To use it on Windows 10/11 unofficially, you just need to map "Pro Controller" to a virtual Xbox 360 controller with XInput wrapper like DS4Windows (https://github.com/schmaldeo/DS4Windows) or BetterJoy (https://github.com/Davidobot/BetterJoy). You can even map its motion sensor to analog sticks for gyro gaming in games like "Monkey Ball".

I have a video showing how this works with 8BitDo Lite 2 in Switch mode. The process is exactly the same for this controller. You do need to turn on "Switch Pro Controller Support" first in DS4Windows ("Settings > Device Options"). I forgot to show that in the video.

The other ultimate Bluetooth for switch with a dock also does 2.4g and comes with an adapter to use it on a PC.
