if you guys are planning to use this, buy a graduated roller bottle for aroma oil. I bought mine from Aliexpress. You can find similar items from Amazon. I included a SS of it.
It makes applying the product much easier and you don't have to deal with much of the hassles that come with dropper. (waiting for it to dry and preventing it from flowing down) . Since it's graduated, you can apply 1ml precisely as well. Although my bottle from Ali came with an error where 1ml was marked as 2ml instead, but it still works fine. I wouldn't use those specialized hair applicators with multiple mini roller balls. They work less consistently than this bottle.

It 100% works for some causes of balding, but you can never be positive what your cause is.

I used this for a year then switched to the foam. Since you use this twice a day, that usually means bedtime. The drops dry very slow, so you have to remember to time it well before you go to bed. And remember - you have to use it every day for the rest of your life! The convenience factor of the foam makes it worth the additional cost ($100/yr vs. $40 here).

Make sure you read about the risks if you have cats. If they ingest this by licking your head it can be fatal.

This popped up so thought I'd ask here...anyone have experience getting/using oral minoxidil? I tried getting a prescription but since it's not FDA approved it wasn't allowed. It's approved for high blood pressure (I think) but not hair loss. Using propecia already.
Old retired doc here. Upjohn originally marketed the oral form for hypertension more than 45 years ago. It is still a go to med for resistant hypertension especially in people with kidney disease . Anyway I prescribed it when it came out and worked but women would present to the clinic very unhappy about their facial hair. The pharmaceutical company said hey let's forget about hypertension we have a hair growth drug! If you're not hypertensive the oral drug would very likely make you dizzy.

Internet is full of false information, please don't add false MEDICAL information at least. Could harm someone who doesn't know not to trust internet with everything.

Instructions clearly say, that this os only supposed to be used for balding in crown areas, nowhere else.

Jeez, so many people claiming false info. I have a beard so i dont need it but I been usinf minox (mosty foam since liquid irritate my scalp) FOR 24 years. Thanx to sticking to my regimen I still have my full head of hair which was FRONTAL, CROWN, VERTEX. I have grown and kept my hair, with a mix of keto shampoo, fin (or dut) foam minox (sometimes lipogaine at night and foam morming) plus microneedle with a dermapen for a few years now. Most people here that try it probably gave up in the first few months like I almost did cause I had the worse hairloss when I started using this. But 4 month after all my hair grew back. Added fin (now dut). Dermaroller (pen in my case) cause I read of the benefit but canr tell if it did much since i had more than 15 years keeping my hair without it. Only problem I have is grey hair which isnt related to hairloss. Just for men every 2 months is my trick for now.

Finasteride and oral minoxidil grew my hair back. I had just started thinning on the crown. Took about 6 months to see significant result. Used topical, then foam but switched to oral in the end due to having cat at home and don't want to be paranoid about washing my hands and pillow cover.

best nonsurgical hairloss intervention Ive found is TED or Trans Epidermal Delivery. it uses exosomes among other things. the protocol is monthly with a 6 session commitment. its amazing, painless, effective, but not cheap.

Minoxidil and Finasteride helped me to regrow my hair. I've been using them since 2021. Here's my before and after pictures taken by my Doctor who prescribed my Finasteride and also advised me to use Minoxidil.

What happens if you stop using it?

Yes, if you are bald on top of your head (middle) like the picture, then this should help.

If you have male pattern baldness in front of your head or hair loss due to age (over 50-60) then this will probably not work!

Penn of Penn and Teller was on minoxidil for blood pressure. He got off of it after his weight loss and said he noticed significant thinning- this was a couple of years later, so unrelated to the weight loss.

Do they not carry this in-store anymore? All I ever see in-store is the foam version which has additional undesirable ingredients.
That would be correct

That is according to Minoxidil manufacturer because the product research and testing was limited to that area of the head. However, since I apply this on the front of my head as well, I've noticed that my front hairline is not as high as it used to be and it was thicker as well. If you google it, you'll find that this works in other areas and not just on the top part of the head. Of course, it still depends on the person since it might not work for everyone.
