I purchased the 6K version on sale in March directly from Sofirn and thought I got an OK price (paid $70). I just bought the 5K version on this deal. This is a great price. Keep in mind that this is a "soda can" style light that takes three big 21700 batteries and is very HEAVY, so it's not EDC. It is however, impressively BRIGHT!

I don't need more flashlights but couldn't resist. Is this a symptom of flashlight hoarding?

Good dog walking light or is it too much light? I have the SC31 Pro but wish the battery life was better.
Too much for dog walking. It's a neat light but pretty impractical due to the size. Mine gets used most with the rubber light diffuser during power outages, camping, and showing off how bright it is as a novelty.
Might be worth looking into the SP35T for dog walks, it has a slightly larger battery than your current one and gets brighter. I usually run mine at a lower setting (still pretty bright) and don't have to recharge very often.

I have the Sofirn SP36 which has a similar form factor but half the lumens of this one at turbo. Really good to have these kind of lights if you are in a pitch black area.

One time I was walking with the kids when the entire neighborhood went dark becuase somebody let go of a foil baloon that hit an electrical pole.

I'm thinking it will save us if we get approached by coyotes?

Yes it is heavy and will drop your pants if it doesn't have a belt. Good for a jacket pocket though. It's the only downside to this.

Those tool lights are better if you need a work light and have ryobi or other branded battery tools. There are generic LED work lights as well but they drain your battery when off and the battery is connected.
For a work light I missed the mfr coupon for the Infinity X1 3000 lumen USB and solar rechargable work light at costco. With coupon it was $28. I think normal price is $35. Check the costco phone app.

These are so freakin bright in Turbo mode. I love it.

As others have hinted, if you weigh under....say 200 lbs....then this probably isnt ideal for you.

Fun fact, the light from these can start a fire if you shine it on black construction paper up close

I have 4 of these 5000k ones, so yes, it's a sickness. A very bright one.
