Is there any way to get this without getting the Sams membership?

If there is a trial as well that would be great

Yep, trying to figure this thread out. I bought these over a year ago and just checked my receipt - same price. Great luggage and held up through a European trip well but trying to figure out why this is suddenly a new slick deal?

I've had my eye on this bag for awhile, anyone ever own one? I know the wheels and zips are good, but how about the shell? Heavy, good, cheap feeling?
I've had mine for a couple of years. At the time I realized it was the same as the Away... and on a recent flight I was helping someone with their Away bag, and can confirm the exterior is identical outside of the logo. For $69 (carryon) there's nothing else like it for materials and high quality wheels, zipper, and TSA lock. I find it funny that it's just hitting Slickdeals at regular price when these have been a big deal for a couple of years on reddit and such.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is "slick" because this bundle is usually sold out. The purple color is already gone.

The lifetime warranty is already a huge win. If the luggage cracks 4+ years from now, unless they change their policy, you can take it back and return it or get a full refund. That's a huge benefit all by itself.

I just purchased the blue set.

No, unless you know somebody with a membership. But you can get one for $20.

Has anyone seen these in store? It says not available in my local stores, but that's not always accurate.

100% agree. I've been researching luggage for a month.Whose checking the size dimensions? This should easily fit into the compartment of widebody aircraft for international travel. I will get mine later this week. Is there a color you like? Here's THE review that had me sold on this luggage."Probably the best set of hard case luggage set around for the price and quality. This is the 3rd set we have purchased for the family. The wheels are very sturdy and roll very well even on the streets of busy cities like Edinburgh and Tokyo. The large suitcase are within the measurements of even the lower cost carriers where the nickel and dime you for everything. The smaller suitcase is no issue as a carry on. Definitely recommend these sets of luggage."
Have you come across any softside luggage with the same quality wheels by any chance?

I doubt it. The $20 discounted one year deal is the best....as otherwise you will have to pay a 10% surcharge or $14. The $6 differential ($20 minus $14) is worth paying for free 1 year membership. That membership is "auto-renew" but you can cancel the auto-renew feature immediately after you become a member. So, zero issues there.

You can get the discounted $20 sams membership at this link

Does Sams Club ever offer a free trial?

Because it is THE best deal out there, regardless of how long it was out there at that price.

The purple one is also sold out for the stand alone carry one. So, that must be the best color.

haven't been to a store but have noticed that for the past 2 months at least, it has always been flagged as "online only". Costco, while it doesn't sell Members Mark, also sells most luggage "online only". Very few are in the store. So, maybe wholesale clubs think this is the way to go for luggage.

Sorry, I have not. BTW, the best softside luggage is often described as Travelpro Maxlite 5. It is expensive but not prohibitive. I have no idea what wheels are used on Maxlite 5.

Why are you so fixated on Hinomoto wheels anyway?

Is that why you think it is a better deal than this?

The one is this thread is $139.99 for both the stand alone carry on ($69.99) and an additional 28" checked baggage. So, in effect, for the deal in this thread, you can think of getting a larger 28" luggage for the same price as the 22" luggage.

In that sense, getting this deal for $139.99 is way better than getting only the carry on for $69.99.

Carry On is in this link:

I would think that the luggage in this link might also be a good value for $119.99. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles brand name components (HINOMOTO wheels, etc.,) but it represents good "value" for the price.

The PURPLE COLOR in this luggage set is sold out. If you had your heart set on that color, the identical stand alone carry on (only) is available in purple in the following link for $69.99.

FYI, the 28" cracked after being checked on a flight to Europe. One layover...it was brand new. It was a massive crack that extended through two wheels measuring 12 in. No other damage to the shell, no scratches. Suitcase was half full and not even close to baggage weight limit. I thought it was bad luck but the bad reviews all tell a similar tale.

I've never had a piece of checked luggage crack like that, much less during first use. Zippers fail, handles break, yes but nothing like this.

YMMV but the warranty is of little consolation or benefit when the nearest Sam's club is 3000 miles away.
