I have 24 of these installed in my home and not had any issues. The night light version of these lights caused a humming noise, however, so I stayed with the basic ones. These are compatible with Kasa dimmer switches even though it's not advertised to be so. Lastly, the lights are still fairly bright to be a night light for small children. It's a good dim at the lowest setting but just not for a night light.
I bought a bunch of extras for that purpose. They are cheap enough to have some spares for the future. I have 20+ installed for a few years and none have failed yet.
Quality control is iffy based on reviews. I recommend installing with wagos, so you don't have to struggle so much to replace it.

these are e-waste, really. I would feel more comfortable just replacing the BR30 bulbs.

However, these really shine (no pun intended) when you have minimal clearances, because they're so thin unlike recessed cans. This is exactly what I'd buy them for.

That, or if I was a contractor installing new, because this greatly simplifies the installation process speeding things up quite a bit.
In they can also let you keep a lot more insulation above the light as well

I've installed around 100 of these, no issues.

Can these be daisy chained with their own connections? Or will they have to be wired with Romex in series?

I have an unfinished basement and intend to finish it in the next 18 months. I bought cans and LED retrofits to install now so I can use the space now and while I finish the space and get to the drywall. The cans allow this since they attach to the joists. Would I be able to use these in an unfinished space until I was able to get the drywall up? Thanks
Maybe but they will hang on their connection cords. I have 3 dangling right now while I hang drywall. No big deal but the light is directional.

I bought an Amico set of lights (the ones that screw into an existing light bulb port) three years ago, and they've been going strong ever since.

Halo RL is going to be a million times better than these. Don't cheap out on lights
I had a contractor install new wafer lights and he picked Halos. They are nice, but significantly more expensive than $4.17 a light.

Just an FYI, if anyone is thinking of buying the square style... don't. I love the look but it's a pita to align them right with eachother.

That's exactly why I'm buying them. I'm about to add more insulation to my attic, and the recessed lights I have are a major source of heat transfer.

Bought a dozen of the retrofit ones from this brand—three went out in less than a year. So now probably going to replace all of them. Probably worth it to spring for the Philips ones unless you purchase extra…

That's what we been using for a lot of reno works.
They are great.
Recently finished a kitchen with like 8 of them in and I think 2 of them the color is little off despite setting on the same color...but nobody else pointed it out...weird.

Skip these and find "deep baffle" style. They're actually recessed rather than being flush with the ceiling so there isn't a ton of glare.

I second this. Have roughly 20 in my house for almost 3 years now. They flicker when turned to max brightness when used with Kasa Dimmers and Google commands. This might be a function of the dimmer switch. They're very bright. Easy to install and have been solid. They do get hot when left on for long periods of time but I'm sure that's normal.

Wired with Romex. They come with push in connectors.

There is no way to daisy chain these, so you have to just wire in each to romex, but it's incredibly easy. I have also installed about a hundred or so of this style light and have been very happy and haven't had any fail. 12 of which are in my hot garage in Central Florida and get used extremely frequently for about 5 years now. These are awesome because they fit underneath the truss, basically about 1/16" thinner than the 5/8 drywall (which is code in my area for ceiling drywall). That means you can map them out from the ground, and not in the attic. In most cases, I am replacing an existing lighting circuit, and I don't even need to get into the attic. The las t time I purchased these a few months ago I got these which are $60 but they have a color selector on them which helps when installing in different rooms. https://a.co/d/22myeGP
