Used this for years. The charcoal filter has always felt like a marketing gimmick and I never bought replacements when I ran out. You'll need to occasionally take it apart and scrub it down. The bowl comes apart but is still a little annoying to wash thoroughly.

A fly went into mine, laid eggs, and there were maggots. I switched to a running fountain for $20 from Walmart with no issues other than it must be plugged in

There was a previous deal for this on March 6 or 5. I got it because a picture shows a hand inside the bottle. This size is too small for a hand, at least most hands. Otherwise it is real good.
