With the purchase of a kit like this and a Watch Press (similar in price) you can replace batteries in just about any quartz watch and adjust links. Get yourself a 10-pack of 377 batteries and it will pay for itself on the second watch you do.

I've been changing the batteries and adjusting band links for years using similar tools and saved lots in repair costs. I've also learned to stay away from snap back watch designs, I buy only screw on backs, and even they are tough to unscrew the first time, ie the need for a good spanner tool.
