I thought most Verizon phones had to have ACTIVE service for 60 days before they'd unlock, is that not the case for this deal?
Nope. That is only for trafone and other MVNOs but not for Verizon post paid or verizon prepaid.

I'd like to buy the S24+ for my daughter. We don't have AT&T or Verizon. What's the best and least expensive way here (or any other deal for that matter) to pay off the phone? Would like to use the phone on US Mobile. No problem waiting 60 days for unlock. Would prefer not to pay monthly services while waiting for unlock. I'm not clear on the steps required. Do we sign up for the Verizon phone purchase online at Walmart then go to Verizon store to payoff the balance within 3 days so no activation and no 1st and 2nd month of service? Thanks.

Why does it need to be cash only for Verizon? They can't charge a cc?

Does anyone know if this has AT&T branding, like during the boot process or apps that are pre-installed? It's been my experience with other Samsung phones, but wasn't sure if it's different for the Ultra.

According to past experience, yes, but does not really matter once it unlocks.

Incorrect . It is verizon policy to unlock phones after 60 days .Irrespective of prepaid MVNO or postpaid verizon service , the rules are the same

Verizon just updated it policy for prepaid customers; Here is new policy
For post paid , its still 60 days after activation
While prepaid , its 60 days of active service.
This deal is on post paid device , so does not require 60 days of service.

Postpay Device Unlocking Policy
Devices that you purchase from Verizon are locked for 60 days after purchase. Devices that you purchase from one of our authorized retailers are locked for 60 days after activation. After 60 days, we will automatically remove the lock unless the device is deemed stolen or purchased fraudulently. Following the 60 day lock period, we do not lock our phones at any time.
Prepaid Device Unlocking Policy
Devices that you purchase from Verizon and certain devices purchased from one of our authorized retailers are locked for 60 days after paid activation. After 60 days of paid active service and ordinary usage, we will automatically remove the lock unless the device is deemed stolen or purchased fraudulently. Following the 60 day lock period following device purchase, we do not lock our phones at any time.
If you purchase a 4G Phone-in-a-Box from one of our authorized retailers, you should review the back of the box to determine the lock period applicable to that device.
Unlocking Policy for Deployed Military Personnel
If you are a Verizon Wireless customer on active duty in the military and receive relocation orders outside of the Verizon Coverage Area, upon verification, you do have the option to suspend your line for Military deployment. Upon suspension, your device will only be unlocked after the account has been verified in good standing after 60 days of being active.

So, I can buy this on a "new" verizon account. Cancel that account after receiving the phone, pay off the balance of the phone and then I'll just be able to add it to my existing prepaid?

I'm assuming there's no way to get this via adding a line to a prepaid AT&T account? I've got 4 lines currently and one spot open.
