Bought Verizon and AT&T. VZ went smooth. Paid in store and canceled the same day via chat. Was told I will be charged a months service but I pushed for same day.

AT&T, paid the phone in full before delivery. Phone delivered today, activated, sim swapped, unlock requested and was approved immediately. Cancellation however was tough. Contacted via chat and they claimed they can't authenticate my account, so I did the port out method using the Infimobile sim I got from a prior deal. Port out was instant and wireless account non existent on MyATT app. Bill was still $127. Will that drop?
I prefer cancelling because you have trails/records and chat later on. You might have to chat with them again to see if they void charges on that bill.

Ordered yesterday with VZ, got shipping confirmation today coming from Chino CA, even though I'm on the east coast. No emails from VZ about account setup yet. I also went on VZ and tried to setup new account with the phone number from order and they don't recognize it. fingers crossed.

I ordered the Verizon S24 Ultra about five days ago, and it still hasn't shipped. Should I cancel the order and reorder?

I thought most people were saying it was better to use the port-out method since reps can make "cancellation" go through until the end of the bill cycle or things like that

You have to be persistent with them to make it effective immediately, they are trained to do it at the end of the cycle but this is buyer remorse cancellation. For me last time I did the rep cancelled it right then without even asking questions. Bad signal at home is a very good excuse for cancellation which leaves not much room for debate. Port out also works and you don't have to interact with CS reps but tracking after that becomes difficult.

I would chat with Walmart first and they will cancel it for you if they seem that the order can't go forward. That's what happened to .y last order which was stuck for two days

I chatted with Walmart, they answered something about money hold, I still didn't understand what the reason for the delay was, they said to wait 48 hours. Strange.

Thanks for that, also is there anywhere on at&t's website that specifies you don't have to pay any fees if you cancel within 3 days of activating service? All I can find is this "AT&T will refund your Activation Fee, if any, if service is terminated within three days of activation." but obviously that doesn't' take care of three days of service

Thank you, I want to do exactly this with the S24 U. How did you pay off and how did you cancel? Did you goto AT&T store or do it over chat? I am also worried over the $35 activation fee + $75/mo plan that I am thinking they will want to charge me even if I cancel asap.
I paid on att web portal via credit card. I canceled over the chat. No calls.

You do have to pay prorated charges for couple of days

https://www.att.com/wireless/return-policy/ and then consumer. "Service Cancellations within 14 Days. You may call us at 800-331-0500 to cancel wireless service. You are responsible for all applicable fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges, or other charges through the termination date. AT&T will refund your activation fee, if any, if service is terminated within 3 days of activation. The charges for service used on the account before the service termination date may be applied against any down payment."

If they open their account first. So you can open a Verizon account by just email address and password and then link the new phone. That account remains longer (close to a month) even after the line is cancelled giving you a way to chat regarding bills etc.

Did you unlock it already or activated on ATT? You can install Samsung Smart switch on your PC, connect the phone and it should also download and install the latest update
Yes i already unlocked it and then cancelled the line Frown . I wish i had updated the android before cancelling. Tried your method of installing smart switch on PC but it does not give any option of updating the software.

I received my Ultra today but there is no SIM card, the package was sealed, and nothing in the box. Does this mean I hit the free phone lottery?

You can always flash the latest att or unlocked firmware using Odin, that always works.
