Did you cancel the account before getting the unlock code? I suppose you did this as a non ATT user as instructed. If the account is cancelled it's unlikely you will get the unlock code from the portal. You will have to chat with CS to see if they can give you the code.
no , i have been using ATT postpaid for many years, and I am not going to cancel

Nope, does yours show it. A few people on reddit are telling me Verizon isn't supposed to have it, but I thought you mentioned you saw it on your Verizon one right?
I think. I didn't see it earlier . But updated my phone few times. And checked after reading your comment and it shows now

So you don't have to switch. You open up a new account with FI, become existing user after 21 days, do the deal, keep the account active on FI for $120 days and then pause the service. All FI phones are factory unlocked and ready to be used with any carrier from day 1. See https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/18073087. Some here keep a FI account for this purpose.
Hmm, thanks for sharing. I just peeked and the best I see right now is $300 off of the $999 S25+ for $699.

Oh dang. Thanks guys. Let me check this out then. Thanks to you and gadget.

Cliff notes of his linked post for that, open a google flex account, keep it open for 21 days to get the deal, then keep service active for how long after getting the s25+ (do they claw the discount back or something if you leave too soon after)?

You have to have service for 120 days or you get hit for the discount.

And I can use the $20 flex plan for that on fi for the 120 days? How long after becoming a new fi customer does it take to get these deals? This might be the play. Thanks guys!

Yes $20 flex plan can be used. I honestly don't know what the time frame for the deals showing up in your account. I just looked it up from an old account i had.

Received att 24 plus yesterday. Called customer service (CS) to activate phone as my log in credentials did not work. Every time CS tried to activate physical sim received a number port in error. I did not port in a number. Seemed as if the number that was originally assigned to me was the issue. They eventually activated an esim with a new number. My phone is now active and my balance on the myatt app shows $0 even though I did not pay device off.

I was planning to do sim swap method. Am I stuck waiting 60 days day to unlock?

You have to do the unlock request as non ATT user. But baring that, if it does not work you can chat with CS and they might give you the unlock code.

You can do SIM swap. Given that eSIM swap is not that trivial, Before SIM swap I think you should do the following 1. Try unlock link from that app/website if available, 2. Talk to CS to see if you they can give you the unlock code. And congrats of free phone, if you don't mind let us know where you are broadly and from where the phone is shipped

The play is to use these ATT/Verizon deal to get a flagship phone cheap and then use Google FI to upgrade to the newer version of that for $0 by doing existing users promo and selling the old version locally. I have been on Galaxy ultra for three generations now using that strategy.

Edit: Especially given that Samsung trade in values have plummeted recently.

When I go to att.com/deviceunlock and request for unlock after entering my IMEI it says "You can't unlock your device until your installment plan is paid off. If you pay off your device as part of your monthly bill, wait until the start of your next bill period to unlock it.
Want to pay off your device early? Make sure your number has been active on the device for at least 60 days. Then, sign into your account to review and pay off your installment plan. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit a new unlock request.."

I just paid off on ATT website. So may be I have to wait for a few hours before I can make an unlock request?

Any help?
