I got the bill as well after porting out on day 5 and ATT doesn't want to waive any fees due to mid cycle. I said it was before 14 days and they told me that I should have returned equipment... Any suggestions? Another agent told me to wait for an updated bill for the next billing cycle. Would paying late after due date affects anything?

I suggest waiting until the phone arrives as if it's get lost it will be a really big problem to return/cancel. For ATT waiting a few days does not matter as you can always get the activation fee voided instantly even after 3 days, see my pinned comment so you end up with couple of more days of prorated usage.
Thanks for your detailed instructions. I received the phone on Friday and paid it off online right away. Turned it on and made several calls. I could see it in my ATT account. Then I switched the SIM card to my backup phone. Made several calls too. Was trying to unlock it at the late night. It wouldn't go through. So I left it there. In Sat afternoon, I could see my backup phone under ATT account. So I sent the unlock request. It works pretty well this time. Now I have an unlocked Samsung S24 Ultra!

I was trying to cancel my service online with a live agent. She/He tried to persuade me to cancel it to the end of billing circle. I refused. Then I was told that it would be handled by a cancelling team which only works Monday to Friday. I need to call back on Monday. Is that true?

I think they were also open on Saturday but this weekend might be different. You should be able to cancel it over chat so try another agent. They might be pushing you do loyalty dept which you don't need to go to for cancellation.

Damn. I am waiting for the bill to show up. Please let me know if and when you've worked around it. After how many after you cancelled did it show up on your account?
AT&T reversed my activation fee without me even asking. They are still asking for the first month of service + taxes though.

See my pinned comment about getting the activation fee voided instantly and then chat with a CS rep and politely insist to getting the rest of charges credited, mention buyer's remorse cancellation etc.
Thank you. AT&T removed my activation fee without me asking. I then chatted with a CS rep and requested that the monthly charge also be reversed since I canceled on the third day. She said I need to wait until my new bill is generated. My balance is currently showing $64.XX due on Jul 23. I don't understand what she meant since I would expect that the next bill would be generated after the due date for the current one. Should I get back on the chat and ask again?

The CS reps are trained to give you the credit on the next months bill so that's what normally they do. But it's a cancelled account so there won't be another bill. You might receive the credit as a check but it's better to ask for an immediate credit on the current bill instead. Be polite but persistent that you want the credit on the current bill.

For people that want to pay off your device with split payments, just overpay your bill here, and the credit will take take of your device owed when the line is canceled.

I think you may do that with *729 (*PAY) on your phone too, but I never tried it. Good luck!
how much time does it take for device payment to hit the account after cancellation?

I placed an order for att version yesterday and might have accidentally used my previous att home Internet account (with no active service). Is it normal that I see no record of this new purchase? Do I have to "manually" add it when the phone arrives?

Any recommendations for a screen protector that works with the fingerprint sensor on the s24 ultra? I have went through 2 of them from Amazon and they don't work. I have the fingerprint sensitivity turn on for screen protector.

i had good experience with hydrogel type. they don't last long enough like tempered glass but they are cheap at cost of $5 for set of 3 which would work out for couple of months if you prefer to change these things one every few weeks instead of dragging it till they just brake apart

I just bought this one today from amFilm for my s24 Plus. They are on sale (prime day) I've had good luck with this brand in past. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPJ2RFH3

I was billed $57 last month for the activation fee plus 4 days of service and taxes and regulatory fees. Got my final bill today. Everything was removed but ATT charged me $8.00 late fee, having a new bill balance for $8.48. Chatted with a rep and explained to her that I had been advised not to make a payment and waited for the July bill to show all the adjustments and credits to be reflected on the final bill. She quickly removed the late fee after consulting with her supervisor. She assured my account is now $0.00. I think I am all set now.
