From what I gathered, these are Barracuda HAMR drives. HAMR drives are not suitable for use in large arrays - something about the laser tech not liking the vibrations of being with a bunch of drives. These particular drives are also not "rated" for 24/7/365 use and only have 2 year warranties. They're probably fine for backup or shucking for a desktop, but maybe not for shucking to toss into your multi-drive NAS box.

If you end up with a Barracuda and lose the Seagate lottery, I wouldn't recommend shucking it—given its paltry one-year warranty and low MTBF rating [seagate.com]. However, these large external drives are decent for storing relatively worthless and ubiquitous video media, such as easily replaceable TV shows and anime.
I have the 20TB version and used it for about four months now. It has performed superbly for my needs—primarily as an affordable way to stream and store video media for my Plex server. Read/write speeds average around 250MB/s, and the drive powers down quickly and smoothly when not in use. Initially, the external drive was quite noisy when it was empty during initialization/startup. However, now that it's full, it's as noisy as any other external drive I've used.

However, in the Asia-Pacific region, the warranty is three years, and in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, it is two years. This bodes well and could suggest that Seagate is merely taking advantage of the USA's weak consumer rights and protections, rather than indicating poor build quality. The 20TB external seems relatively well-built and trustworthy. I've used it extensively for four months now, and in my opinion, it's pretty decent.

this person shucked a 22TB drive and testing shows it's similar to an exos even though it's labeled barracuda. apparently it doesn't match up with any official barracuda model #s
i also got a recent 22TB deal just to try it out with unifi protect and it's been working fine for a few days so far
