Isn't it M4 allows lid to be OPEN AND support 2 monitors? That's a total of 3, 2 external and the MacBook screen.

Yep, that's why I didn't mention OP. This was a SD mod choice and they (poorly) make do it often. Usually it's when the specs are the bare minimum… this time when they are not.

It isn't hard.

The ram and disk specs genuinely were in the original thread title.

They've been removed for some reason. Only an SD mod could help us understand why.

I'd just get best buy to price match microcenter for 14" MacBook pro at this price point. Better battery, screen, cooling, speakers, I/O, etc

This is correct. It's has much better gpu, better power efficiency, and more speed compute wise.

Yeah it's a year older but honestly these Apple Silicon laptops are so fast I doubt most people would notice a difference. My M1 is still more than enough for me.

this is a great deal. i didn't need the 15" screen so i opted for a 13" sky blue open box (like new) 24GB/512 SSD for $1,153.
