A TV upgrade would be much more beneficial. Save this money and put it towards an OLED. That will be an absolute game changer for you. The PS5 Pro is such a small upgrade. I say that as a huge PS5 fan, who really wanted a Pro, until I saw it in action. I can't justify spending hundreds more for a little better version of something I'm already very happy with.
Just remember the PS5 Pro doesn't come with the disc drive.

They can be had fairly easily now though at or below MSRP after the scalping fiasco last year, but you will be adding $70-$90 on top of this price.
Have base PS5 and recently got the Pro bc I needed a 2nd console and it fit my budget, so made sense to just go w/ the latest gen. It's not worth the upgrade if you already got PS5, the Pro basically delivers base PS5 Quality Mode-level graphics in Performance Mode. It's also borderline unconscionable for Sony to use same CPU in the Pro as the 5yr old base PS5.

$485 + tax at Dell if you have $100 AMEX offer +10% coupon floating around. That is a solid deal.

This!! I was ready to pull the trigger then I thought about it. What do I really need my existing PS5 to do better? And the answer is probably a combination of PS Plus subscription + a better display = more meaningful gaming upgrade than pushing around pixels faster.

Why the drive you got separately? How come they didn't include the Disc drive included with a $700 price tag?

Where would one find the 10% coupon? I don't see a mention of it within the thread.

That's generally not how it works. It's a balance between maximizing profit and demand.

What I'm trying to say is, they've already been going to town. Prices went up because people are willing to pay those prices.

Why would you need a drive? There's no data on the disc, if they shut the game down, the disc won't work anyway. Used prices are the only case to be made. My point is, it's a waste of money, last 3 ps console I've never put a disc in. PS4, ps4pro, ps5. Not to mention disc take up an enormous amount of space.
I'm with you. let those peasants get up and change their 'used' games.

I swear the only reason I'd ever use an AMEX is because I always see stupid good deals like this with an AMEX. I just don't want another credit card.

Anyway, they are in stock for shipping at shopmyexchange for any military vets/family out there. $629 there.

You can basically play games in graphics mode with a better framerate instead of using performance. So if that sounds worth it to you, then go for it. If I didn't have a PS5, I would consider the pro, because I have the money, so it's no big deal for me. Everyone's situation is different.
Agreed ... I have multiple PS4 Pro and PS5 Pro. Compared to the original and slim models of both, I've found less errors and console failure. I strongly believe the Pro consoles are made better and last longer.

This 💯

Sony's greed is approaching Apple & Nvidia levels.
