Despite the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro being the same size and dimensions, Sony intentionally designed the faceplate interlocking mechanisms to be different, preventing compatibility. The PS5 Slim's lower faceplate may fit the Pro, but the upper ones do not."

What I've read is that the Slim covers are the right size but the attachment is different.

That's pretty bad. I got my knockoff ones from either Temu or Aliexpress (well before the tarrifs) for $20 and they look great. They don't have the cutout for the PS logo or the micro symbols on the inside but was worth saving the $30 at the time.

Great business decision by Sony. Unfortunately they missed the opportunity to lease this PS5 faceplate on a subscription basis. Something to look forward to for PS6 maybe.

I guess this is a hot take but I like the white and black design of my PS5…? And even if you don't, wouldn't you rather bold design decisions than various sizes of black boxes for eternity?
