Thanks to Staff Member phoinix for finding this deal.

Available from:Book Synopsis:
  • Why have history's greatest minds—from George Washington to Frederick the Great to Ralph Waldo Emerson, along with today's top performers from Super Bowl-winning football coaches to CEOs and celebrities—embraced the wisdom of the ancient Stoics? Because they realize that the most valuable wisdom is timeless and that philosophy is for living a better life, not a classroom exercise.
  • The Daily Stoic offers 366 days of Stoic insights and exercises, featuring all-new translations from the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the playwright Seneca, or slave-turned-philosopher Epictetus, as well as lesser-known luminaries like Zeno, Cleanthes, and Musonius Rufus. Every day of the year you'll find one of their pithy, powerful quotations, as well as historical anecdotes, provocative commentary, and a helpful glossary of Greek terms.
  • By following these teachings over the course of a year (and, indeed, for years to come) you'll find the serenity, self-knowledge, and resilience you need to live well.

I'm a huge Ryan Holiday fan. All of his books have really connected with me. I read this every day (along with the Daily Dad). It is great for reading on the go. I highly suggest it!

Reading on the go? Perhaps you meant listening?
Nope. I did not mean listening. I meant reading. It's a digital book. Not an audio book.

Same. I read both every day. I recommend Daily Dad for anyone, even if you don't have kids.

Good point and suggestion!

Because I'm nuts, I also get the daily emails from the Daily Stoic and the Daily Dad. It's probably overkill for me. But it could be a good, no cost place for people to get a flavor of Stoicism.

I also read the Obstacle is the Way, Ego is the Enemy and Stillness is Key every year. A great way to keep your mind in check and stay focused.

Stoicism isn't pop psychology. It's been influential for over 2 millennium and its concepts can be seen in many modern incarnations, such as cognitive behavioral therapy. The page a day format (content is based on Stoic philosophers' writings) is a great way to keep your focus on looking at life through the stoic lens. Note, there's a free PDF of the book on the web, but I still purchased the ebook version as it was more convenient to read daily.

I've had my eye on those titles. 👍

I can take a bean burrito, cut it in half, put lettuce, tomato, and beef in between, and call it a burger. It's not quite a burger, though, is it? So some online marketers figured out that some people are willing to pay for daily manly messages and they call it stoicism. Some nice lipstick on that big. Give her a kiss. Smooches!
The kernel of valid criticism here doesn't negate the utility of the book. These are one and two-page discussions of a paragraph's worth of Marcus Aurelius or Seneca. Readers won't have anything interesting to say about Seneca once they've reached the page where they started, but if they develop a case of meathead galaxy brain, they've also read methods to cure it.
