No, it's supposedly about 5 years after expiration. Seanisbomb gave a quality answer and it's very much dependent on how the MRE's are stored. I've had MRE's that are even older than expiration + 5 years and they're fine. What I do find that often goes bad a year or two after the expiration date are the flameless ration heaters.
