This would be perfect for me to switch to from my current Mint plan, but I have many months left. Any way that I can buy this deal now and activate it later this year?

On Google fi for like a decade, but they have the worst customer service of literally any company I've ever dealt with. I recommend staying away.

can you elaborate? I just called customer service and both times they answered within seconds, and were very very friendly.

Ha. Same situation. I'd be throwing out half of my year.

Isn't Visible a better option if you want unlimited data w/ tethering for $25/mo?

no tethering. odd since it has a data cap
where are you seeing anything about no tethering? they just upped teh tethering limits a month ago.
Google website shows for the Unlimited Standard "50 GB of high-speed data" and "25 GB of high-speed hotspot tethering".
I think the deal is great: $25/month is the same as ATT prepaid ($300 for 360 days), more data, more tethering data and we can stop at anytime. Unfortunately I still have 10 more months with ATT prepaid.

Unfortunately not. I just signed up, and the "Track your promotion" page clearly states that my next requirement to apply the promotion is to "Activate the device within 30 days of signing up."

I just remembered that you can pause a Fi plan for up to three months, twice per year - so 6 months total per year. The promotion would still be running out the clock, but you wouldn't pay anything in the meantime.

Just curious why you're advising everyone to stay away when you've been with them for over 10 years?
I've been with them even longer. 99% of people will never have the need to contact Fi customer service. But for the 1% when something goes wrong like a missing shipment or promo not applied correctly, getting it solved will take you hours if ever.

Thanks! I just signed up and got another $60 in bill credits using a promo code. That will offset losing a couple months of Mint service for me.

Nah, I'll stick with Mint. They've been great for my needs. Same network and cheaper.

The comparative plans of Mint are not cheaper than this deal

I have not had any problem getting through to them, but most of their customer service agents are in India, are under trained, and are extremely useless with extremely thick accents that require me to ask them to repeat what they're saying, every other sentence. That may sound like bigotry, but I'm purely talking about my ability to communicate with them and their ability to solve problems. I had an issue with a pixel phone screen that was covered under an extended warranty, and none of them knew what I was talking about. Getting it actually fixed, took hours and hours of free time to get them to actually cover it despite being a fully documented problem that Google covered with their extended warranty and sending them links to said warranty.I have since moved to an iPhone after being on android for about 15 years, even though iPhones are worse, the customer service surrounding them is 1 million times better. I'm currently looking for other phone service providers as well
What's worse about iPhones? The OS is so much better (unless you mean the ability to "root" the device and customize everything to your heart's desire) and actually receives frequent updates unlike Android.

When I checked the phone compatibility with an ulocked iPhone (SE, 11, 12,13) it says

Network switching
iPhone® does not support international network switching, but you'll still get great coverage.

So we cannot use another international SIM? just want to know if anyone tried.
I think it means automatically switching between networks on the basis of reception or geography.
