This would be perfect for me to switch to from my current Mint plan, but I have many months left. Any way that I can buy this deal now and activate it later this year?

On Google fi for like a decade, but they have the worst customer service of literally any company I've ever dealt with. I recommend staying away.

can you elaborate? I just called customer service and both times they answered within seconds, and were very very friendly.

long thread, sorry if it is a repeated question. i got 4 lines to transfer from two different carriers. likely take time. can i buy the 4 line plan, and transfer in later? Port in usually takes 24 hours?
port in process should not take longer than 15 minutes if you can go with the e-sim option and if your device support e-sim (if you have the portout codes from the previous carrier)

the plan owner has to signup and invite other members (gmail) to join the plan.

If you need physical sim, then each line that needs physical sim has to order a sim from their gmail/fi account (sim order is free).

where can i se the discount? it still shows in m account it is $100 for 4 lines. even though when i was signing up, it shows promotion, it doesn't shown in final page.

Unlimited Standard
$100 for 4
Our upgraded unlimited plan includes more data and hotspot tethering to keep you connected in the US, Canada and Mexico
If you see the promotion, that is good enough. Once you signup the plan, it will show the promotion...you will receive an email saying that you have the promotion (wait for an hour or so).

You will get a separate email with the following message....
You've earned Fi bill credit for the Half off new lines for 18 months promotion. You'll see the credit applied to your upcoming bill(s).

How is T-Mobile signal there? It should be similar to what TMO is.

For reference I'm in Irvine, CA and my $35 plan has an additional $2.63 in taxes/fees, not the end of the world.
That's not bad.

For those saying that free trials aren't eligible, why not just create a new gmail account and sign up as a new customer instead?

this is not true at all. please stop spreading lies.first of all if you are dialing 611 to reach tmobile customer service that is YOUR fault.the real best customer reps are on X (tmobile help). when you dm them and confirm your accountthey go above and beyond. I do agree dialing 611 or calling TMobile customer service directly is not great.
I'd buy a new phone before going back to X. If that's the company T-mobile keeps, I'll pass!

regarding their customer service: I originally signed up this morning for the deal but I didn't notice they had an old shipping address for the SIM so I immediately cancelled the order, then I tried to reorder but couldn't figure out their website so I clicked on the 'Call me' option and they called back within a couple of minutes, literally. The rep was a little hard to understand but she was able to resolve my issue and showed me what I needed to do. Maybe I got lucky or maybe it's because my issue was simple, but I was impressed at the speed in which they called back.

No hotspot on the essentials plan? No, thanks! Fi plans are simply poorly designed since inception.

How much are people paying for taxes and fees? I have 4 lines to consider switching over. If it's $45/mo would it be like $50-55 after taxes and fees?

Depends on the state. 50% off also applies to taxes+fees. For me each line has $3.29 for taxes+fees and then apply 50% off, so approximately $1.65 during the promo.

For those of you with nice big-screen phones: Google Fi's video streaming quality is capped at 480p (standard definition, often described as DVD quality) on its Unlimited Essentials, Unlimited Standard, and Unlimited Premium plans when using mobile data.
