Posting this as more of a PSA than a slick deal but it's less expensive at the moment than many alternatives.

For everyone wanting some extra Nintendo Switch 2 game data storage this can be very useful. Officially licensed by Nintendo, and Samsung's memory card products usually hold up well.

Note: The Nintendo Switch 1 can use older-standard microsd cards that are significantly cheaper. The Nintendo Switch 2 requires the newer (and of course more expensive) microSD Express standard format.

Many might downvote this post, but for those looking for Switch 2 storage, this can be really helpful. Last I checked a lot of these express cards were sold out already

Agreed, there were comparable SanDisk ones available for the same price at Amazon a while back, but those are either sold out or at higher prices now…will probably be a lot of price swings during switch 2 rollout next week.

Down to less than 6 days until preorders arrive…patience lol

A lot of downvotes probably because the capacity and price is being compared to the regular micro SD card prices. These EX cards are very different cards but hardly anybody knows. But this is a chance to get a card if you intend on installing a lot of digital games from your Switch 1 to the Switch 2 after the transfer.

Or because this is just the regular price, hence hardly a deal.

OP mentions it's not really a deal, just notifying of availability. Similar to in stock posts for new consoles

The Walmart ones from their brand onn are also available at about half the price. $36 for 256GB and $66 for 512GB. And yes they are microSDCX Express marketed for the Switch 2.

Thank you for this info - any updates on who manufactures those for Walmart?

Not sure, but it's made in Taiwan and has a rated speed of 800 MB/s read, 600 MB/s write. Google said PNY and Lexar, sometimes SanDisk, make their other cards, but these speeds are similar to Samsung. And with the limited amount of options, it may very well be one of them.

Ordered one of the Nintendo branded ones but cancelled it whenever I saw a video that mentioned the Onn cards. Double the size for the same price isn't bad, but still high compared to the non-express cards. Switch 2 recognized it and it seems to work fine for Mario Kart World which is the only Switch 2 game that I have right now.

Crazy how a Nintendo branded express card is the cheapest out of the other options (of which there aren't many).

Still think this express stuff is bs just to justify charging way more than regular microsd cards.

Supposedly the ONN card are made by Lexar, however the general thought is that they are binned cards (did not pass qc as a better card but pass well enough to qualify as ONN 256, hence the cheaper pricing)
PNY makes express cards but the specs do not match with ONN specs (read/write speeds)
