Verizon prepaid joined Verizon value (tracfone and the like) and needs "60 days of paid active service and ordinary usage" for unlocking:
https://www.verizon.com/about/con...ing-policy

The date on this page is May 22. But today I got a text from VZW PP saying:
"Hi, it's Verizon Prepaid. We're updating our Unlocking Policy effective 07/07/2025. 60 days of paid active service and ordinary usage will be required in order to qualify phones to be unlocked."

"In order to mitigate theft and other fraudulent activity... "
LMAO.

As expected, following suit from its MVNOs recent move, the other shoe drops. But they need to define "ordinary usage". One use per month, or?

I can't log in to chat, as I have no postpaid account. Not that an agent would know.

I hope they don't get their way with their request for a 1-year requirement to unlock.

Straight Talk didn't require active service 1 month lapse and still automatically unlocked after buying second month.

You did not put your details of when purchased, and when activated.
Depends on when it was activated, and even then, it has been YMMV.

For those activated on or after April 1st, 60 days of paid service required.
