Just buy it, it's awesome. Bluetooth sync is fast and seamless on my iPhone - just expand the dock and slide in the phone - it automatically turns on and pairs by the time my phone is set in the dock. Controls feel really nice. Great battery life. I hear its amazing with a Switch, if you got lucky enough to score one from Costco. I don't know how/why people pay $150 for these things from other companies. Gamesir killed it.
I use mine for Steam Link when I want to game on the couch. I have a pretty robust home network, so even platforming games don't suffer from latency.

I loved my original G8 so much, I bought a second one, just in case.
Insane price, I've tried basically all the controllers for my spare phone and the G8 is by far the best and does not feel like a toy. Great grips, great d-pad, great buttons. Highly recommend! Bought a second one as well. I also have a g cloud for steam link but I am reluctant to use it since the G8 feels so much better.

YouTube "gamesir g8 mod", and you'll have plenty of videos showing how to do it.

Not the g8 mod, that is for the original G8 the G8 Plus just pulls apart if you bend it once you get it all the way open you can fit and tab ultra in it if you really wanted to get that big but I put my iPad pro in it 11 in

The only reason I have other controllers (like the S9) instead of this is x-input mode. Last time I checked, this doesn't have x-input. This really wont matter on probably a majority of games, but on quite a few, being recognized as a Wireless Xbox controller makes life so much easier. I like the feel of the Gamesir sticks perhaps slightly more than the S9, they are stiffer and it feels like I have a little more control, but for emulators and a few very specific android games, not having X-input is a headache. I'm in no way negative on the G8+, its awesome. If it had X-input, it would be perfect (for me). It's a great value at this price point regardless.

And this is why I haven't bought it. They couldn't license it from Microsoft so they took x input functionality away.

Glad someone shared this! It's been live for like two weeks. I was looking for a deal on one and found it on Walmart and forgot to share 😅

Same here! I was going to post, but I didn't want it to sell out while comparing devices then I forgot by the time I ordered.

I got the Hulk version for the same price a few weeks ago. Just saying in case someone wants that one, it may pay to wait because it's been $55 before.

This thing is nice, havent noticed any lag on local games and just a touch streaming gog games thru luna. Like teeny tiny and that's probably not Bluetooth lag. Controller feels very sturdy like a regular controller. You put on edge of your phone, ipad, switch against the right side then pull the left side out and slip it in then let the left side clamp on. Very easy to set up.

So without xinput, is this thing going to be a pain for Xbox cloud gaming on an iPhone?
To be more specific, there's really only a handful of games that are x-input only, and there are work arounds. It really helps with mapping controls. You can google x-input and g8+ and see very specific cases were somebody had difficulty setting something up. But,its still a strong buy at this price. I think the chances of you regretting the G8+ are low, aside from some others that have a wider opening if using tablets, and again there are work arounds.

Are there any lag with these type of BT controllers? Thinking of getting to use for emulator. Contra. Street fighter. Shoot em ups
I play Asphalt Legends with it and there's zero noticeable lag

Just in case if anybody will need this info. There are extenders, which can be installed on GamiSir g8 type C, to use it with tablets, but it is not possible to install it on this plus version. There are additional wires for battery inside. but anyway you can just pull it out - it is pulling out simple and use with tablet, but will need to get it back for charging.

Do you prefer Steam Link over Parsec or Moonlight/Sunshine? I've always used those and never given SteamLink a shot. I use specifically Artemis/Apollo so it can use a virtual display that mimics the resolution of my TVs but never done it on phone.

I have a surface pro tablet from work that I don't use, halfway debating trying it out with this but doubt it'll fit lol

I have the 8bitdo ultimate version of this with beta firmware for iOS support and I use it for game streaming (I have a gaming KVM on my server that streams games to my phone etc via moonlight). Really enjoyed diablo 4 on it too.

I like my backbone but really should have got this. Only reason I got the backbone was the cheap price at the time

I had backbone one usb-c and kishi ultra and both do not work with brawl stars on iOS. I think developer doesn't want an unfair advantage 😅
