They are on clearance at all 3 home depots near me. If I were in the Makita 18v tool system I would think the fact it comes with 4 x 5.0ah 18v batts would make this deal slick. Plus it comes with a double charger seems slick

Except when you realize last year the retail for this was $499. This and the xml10 mowers are their bottom of the barrel. I'm a Makita guy and a fan of their 18/36V outdoor power tools but not their mowers. I'd say if you're doing a 1/4 or less of an acre you'd be okay.

this is a good deal. the batteries alone are almost the cost of what you're paying.

I got this same setup on Amazon for $350 2years ago. It does mow very well and was surprised by the battery life. Only thing I don't like about it are the deck length settings. Your options are short, shorter and dirt. I keep it on the highest setting and it's fine.

Pay a little more and get this. Much better quality and power.

OP might want to add Makita to the title, if you want to reach everyone who might have an alert set for Makita or who would otherwise be interested in posts like this. Brand names are always important, because not everyone immediately knows what they're looking at without them.

Just wanted to add here, that I bought the same mower last year in May and the traction system is busted and I have to manually push the heavy thing to mow lawn. Also, if you are mowing tall grass it will go through battery packs like nobody's business. I have 8xbattery packs and can mow only 1000sqft with those when the grass becomes tall.
