I download and listen offline after my membership lapses. I rarely have a membership, but listen to books I've bought all the time. But when you say "perpetuity" I'm wondering if you're asking something slightly different, like whether you can port out the files into some generic format like MP3, which would probably be a better question for Google.

Thanks. I think I found my answer in your reply. I just didn't want the book to expire after a certain number of plays or a preset expiration date. The mp3 export - I can explore on my own.

I found a few cheap ones from my list. Thanks!

I can justify giving them a little cash after getting so many $1 trial credits. During this last BOGO sale they had, I bought 2 collections that total more than 150 hours. That's for a single credit.
