Arc'teryx Outlet is currently selling the following NEW items at a discount.
Yes, these are still expensive at the sale price. But these are for climbers who want the best Arc'teryx has to offer: Alpha (for most lightweight) and SV (for severe weather).

I have Alpha SV from several years ago and it's bombproof. Highly recommend if you get in situations where gear quality really matters.

sure but it is overkill. this is one of the top of line best inclement weather jackets made.

Key word is "several years ago". Their quality has dropped significantly over the years.

Is this for skiing or mountain climbing or some extreme sport I cannot understand why it would be so expensive unless it's for something like that

I don't have alpha SV, I have beta SL (lower line), and even that is impressive. You just have to "own" one to realize the quality. I was very much a skeptic, but nearly 10 years old and it's still going strong, no tear no scuff nothing.

Any cheaper alternatives with armpit ventilation ?
I only need to wear these types of jackets twice a year helping search for missing people or pets charity events.
