And?

Every time I work with USM staff they are competent, polite, and patient. And almost always get things right on the first effort!

To compare, "US-based" Consumer Cellular is a joke for "customer service."

I switched from T-Mobile to US Mobile last month. I wish I switched sooner.

Very easy to port out. No issues. It's great being able to switch between all three networks, which is unique to US Mobile.

My wife was hesitant to switch, but she's had no issues at all on Dark Star (AT&T). I have RCS issues on Dark Star with a OnePlus 13, but no issues on Warp (Verizon).

Hi me again - you guys helped me with some questions. I have a few comments on this deal:

- So I found out - no refunds for this deal if you want to terminate.
- You HAVE to be on Dark Star at least 90% of the time or you get charged.
- The Smartwatch addon - Apple Watch not included.

If the above is true - why would anyone do Premium for this deal. One of the benefits - as I see it - is the flexibility to switch between networks on Premium. That's useless for this deal. You can only switch for at most 36 days in the year. So maybe unlimited data and hotspot is great but I hardly use hotspot. The other awesome feature of this deal is the included international calling/txting - and that's also included in the Unlimited Starter.

I'm trying to talk myself out of Premium here guys - can you convince me otherwise? Is the extra $120 er year worth it if the two features - free Smartwatch and switching between networks are worthless. If Smartwatch included Apple then yes I would be all overt Premium.

Pretty much depends on how much data you use. I'll be travelling so the international data is good for premium. Premium also gets a higher priority so if you're in a congested area it might help

How long did it take to finalize the switch? I read up to 24 hours.

Yeah I found this link:

https://www.usmobile.com/internat...hone-plans
Like an idiot I assumed unlimited data/talk/text in International - of course the hidden text somewhere obscure. So 1GB data seems bad. I did not realize this - heck 10GB doesn't seem any better. I would use it for driving directions - emails - etc.. I don't travel much but I thought the USM International was a plus over TMobile. Though TM - I believe - offers unlimited in Canada and Mexico.
How does this work then - I see you can buy an add-on plan. What happens if you go over these numbers- are you throttled - or do you actually then pay International Rates - which can be excessive.

Hello All,
I placed the order few mins ago. I will get the SIM in 4-6days. Is it okay to activate and port the number after June 7th and still be eligible for the second free line? Thanks.
i was told you have 30 days to port in for the paid plan, and then another 30 days to port in for the free plan. [just need to purchase on/before June 7]

per reddit, you have 90 days to port in for the paid plan, and then another 30 days to port in for the free plan.

Yeah apple watch support still has some holes in it. technically, you can still have an Apple Watch if you're on dark star but the watch will have to be set up independently on warp. I think when you set up the watch that way it's not necessarily tied to your phone. It basically operates as its own separate cell phone. Not ideal. I read of some hacks to get it to sync with your phone, but I would say that path is not for the faint of heart.
I was able to get the deal for someone who does not need the watch. My only way to do the deal again safely is to lock in the price and hope for confirmation of Watch fixes for Dark Star prior to activating or potentially returning for a refund at the last date of the refund policy? I like the deal, that money is being spent anyway and I want to take advantage. I will re-read the guidance on how to buy and hold without activating so I can preserve my right to cancel for refund if I have to.

Thanks!

PS - my skills are slipping - I missed the spot in checkout to enter the OVERDRIVE promo code and had to fix everything after the fact - got back in at $348 to make it feel more like a "slick" deal.

I was told 30 days which seems to agree with the terms and conditions: https://www.usmobile.com/terms

Annual Unlimited Premium and Annual Unlimited Starter "Buy One, Get One" deal:

6. The free annual plan must be activated within 30 days of being made available on the user's dashboard. It will expire after 30 days if it is unactivated.

Just to clarify, you'd need to port out your original Line 1, then port a non US-Mobile Line 2 into US-Mobile before this expires on 6/7, then after 15 days you can port back in Line 1 to US-Mobile.

Also something interesting is that you can (soon) gift these free plans to other people, even those who are not US-Mobile customers:

11. The free line will be giftable (once the gifting feature is available sometime in June 2025): that is, a user who receives a free Annual plan as part of the BOGO deal can transfer that free line to another user (this could be an existing user or someone who is not yet a US Mobile user – they will receive the free plan after creating their US Mobile account).
I thought I could buy it by 6/7 to lock in the price and promo - then I have more time to activate and port in - are you saying purchase AND activate by 6/7?

I have an existing line with US mobile. It sounds like port out and port back in after 15 days to activate the free line may work. I wonder which carrier would be cheap to temporarily port out the number to?
I went with Tello and it took effect within one hour of ordering. They charge $3 for ESIM so the minimal plan to hold me over for 30 days was slightly more than the $10 Dark Star fee on US Mobile. Since I've had a Tello line for long time I am getting most of that back via their referral program. They are pretty easy to get in and extremely easy when it is time to get back out - all port out information is self service once you find the right page on their site.

I looked at those hacks when I tried to get my mom off T-Mobile onto Total Wireless for the $15 per month promo. She would have to buy a watch plan separately. WAY too clunky for my princess stepdaughter. I guess I could buy her a WARP us mobile at 29.50 per month - the Visible plan that includes the watch was repriced to $45 a month once I got off annual purchase and went month to month.

Here is the published policy for multi-month plans:

https://www.usmobile.com/help/art...qVcaeriBVk

If there were better prospects on the Apple Watch I would try to onboard more folks. As it is, I think my brother and I might be able to share a $348 special - he is already on US Mobile so I'd have to teach him how to port out and back in. I'd have 45 days to monitor the watch situation and to have him test out Dark Star before porting out to Tello for the 15 day waiting period that everyone was kind enough to spell out as the working method. I may wait longer than 15 days to be safe but that leaves a fairly tight window for getting off Tello without paying a renewal. The cellular to cellular port process has gone so well lately - I don't expect problems coming back to US Mobile but I will be pissed if they try to deny me a Dark Star promotion because they forced me out for 15 days just to get things reset.

Me too. Can't really complain about less than 20 bucks a month on Red Pocket AT&T towers though. Still this would be cheaper and I'll be watching for it around Black Friday... Red Pocket finally got some real competition!

It seemed to go pretty quickly. I did have an issue wit TMobile - online and in store - it wasn't pleasant - once I figured out everyhting it took 10 minutes and immediate access. Though I did have an issue with my eSIm - had to delete and reinstall. Not a seamless transition but i'm up and running.

These guys make it very difficult to port out and leave
so I no longer recommend them or use them

what they're doing borders on illegal
i was going to report them to the FCC
